UK bed sizes, to scale
The difference between a Double and a King is smaller than most people expect. Measure your room first, then leave at least 60cm to walk around the bed.

Frame sizes are for our standard bases. Headboard height is 130cm from the floor unless you ask for something else. Everything is handmade, so allow 2 to 3 cm either way.

Choosing a size
How much space do I need around the bed?
Leave 60cm to walk down either side comfortably, and 70cm if a wardrobe door opens into that space. At the foot of the bed, 90cm if you need to pass, less if you do not.
Should I size up?
Almost everyone who moves from a Double to a King says they should have done it sooner. The bed only gains 15cm in width, but it is 15cm each of you stops noticing the other.
Do not size up if it leaves you under 60cm at the sides. A cramped King is worse than a comfortable Double.
Will my existing mattress fit?
Our frames take standard UK mattress sizes, so yes, as long as it is the same size name. European sizes differ by a few centimetres and will not sit properly.
What if my room is an awkward shape?
Then a standard size is probably the wrong answer. We build to your measurements through Atelier, including shorter frames for rooms with a chimney breast and lower headboards for sloped ceilings.
