Hardwood frames, hand-layered padding, and a seam that runs unbroken along the base.

The frame

It starts with timber, not chipboard.

Every frame is kiln-dried hardwood, corner-blocked and screwed rather than stapled. It is heavier than it needs to be, which is the point: a frame that does not flex is a frame that does not creak in three years.

The upholstery

The part machines cannot do.

Padding is built up in layers and pulled by hand, which is why a buttoned headboard sits evenly instead of puckering. The base is covered in one piece where the shape allows, so there is no seam running up the corner where you would see it.
